By using Oklahoma as a backdrop, the best of both the grit and the polish, and pulling together things like the sexy stretch of Hérvé Légér against the funky lightness of Finders Keepers, a story unfolds with a strong juxtaposition and a heady, but playful eye to life. By capturing the spirit of style and motion, the viewer can see in between the lines, making their own story with the elements. Through natural lighting and the inner beauty of the subjects, all the images become a testament to the subtext, where the guts and the heart lie.
And this is the fashion, this is the trend. Finding the guts and heart and creating the new. It’s using what you have. It’s finding those unique key pieces and building an emotion, building a style. Getting at the inside of what your persona has to say and then rearranging the way you use it to say something else. It’s all there. Old and new. Light and dark. Hot and cool. Play with it. Experiment with it. Experience it.
And with this knowledge, as the spring of 2015 emerges and Oklahoma continues to develop, I encourage you to let yourself go. Search for the unknown. Get lost. Find gems in a dirty market and then indulge in lush landscapes with caviar. Take the best of both worlds, of all the worlds, and make a new story. Your story.
And then pull it apart and start anew.
