Good coffee is like good music: it feeds the soul.
Since Americans consume roughly 400 million cups of coffee every day, I’d say most of you would agree. But we’re not talking about instant, destroy-your-taste-buds gas station coffee. We’re talking the real deal, the kind of coffee that takes more than a little hot water to whip up.
And if good coffee is what you’re searching for, the OKC metro certainly has it. We’ve done you the “flavor” of grinding out OKC’s hottest coffee spots to indulge your coffee obsession any day of the week.
Elemental Coffee—OKC
One of the coolest things about Elemental is they aren’t just a café, but a roaster. They import and roast their very own coffee in house, creating an original, new experience every time, but consistently delicious. Elemental is served at many restaurants across the metro, so you might even find it at your favorite brunch spot. Or better yet, have brunch at Elemental—their menu is light and scrumptious.
Suggested drink: Elemental Coffee makes a fantastic pour-over, which is a method of drip coffee. Each cup is brewed individually and to perfection.
Gray Owl Coffee—Norman
Bicycles hang from the ceiling inside the eclectic, comfy coffee shop on Gray Street in Norman, hinting at the owners of Gray Owl who also own Buchanan Bicycles on Campus Corner. Here you will find everyone from college students to families, all enjoying brewed coffee, a hot scone and an Americano, or a frothy vanilla latte. They also have a variety of organic teas, served by the cup or in your very own little teapot.
Suggested drink: Try a cortado, an espresso cut with a small amount of warm milk and served in an adorable glass.
Coffee Slingers Roasters—OKC
Located in the historic Automobile Alley, Coffee Slingers is another café and roaster, combining a fun, innovative environment with a unique blend of coffee. The pour over bar will make your heart sing, and don’t forget to grab a scone or three.
Suggested drink: You will never, ever go wrong with their cold brew. Perfect for this warm Okie summer!
Café Evoke—Edmond
If variety is king in your coffee palate, look no further. Café Evoke serves everything from coffee and cappuccinos, to Italian sodas and craft beer. They have about every syrup imaginable to jazz up your latte if you’re into that sort of thing. It’s also a great place to grab brunch and a mimosa. The café offers a mobile option as well with the Evoke Sip Truck. Book them for private parties, events, birthdays, concerts and festivals.
Suggested drink: Try an americano. Also be sure to check their website as they post what’s currently on the bar for that day.
